SEQ Catchments is a community-based business that sources and coordinates investment in activities that help South East Queensland to a sustainable future and restores natural resources for the benefit of future generations. We mobilize community effort, manage and leverage investment to meet identified targets. We coordinate activities on the ground and provide technical and scientific advice to deliver measurable and sustainable long term outcomes.

Why did you choose to locate your business at the Innovation Centre and what are the benefits?

SEQ Catchments Community Partnerships Manager (North), Susie Chapman, is an adjunct lecturer in the Faculty of Science, Health and Education and has been based on campus for the last 6.5 years since the inception of our organisation. Initially housed in the Faculty Buildings, Susie moved to the Innovation Centre 4 years ago for the access to excellent meeting facilities and the opportunity for interaction with innovative businesses.

Moving to the Innovation Centre proved to be a wise move for many reasons: the Innovation Centre is very easily accessible and locatable for visitors travelling from north or south; the meeting and conference facilities are excellent and enable us to host many regional meetings and fora; interaction with the other businesses in the centre provides mutual opportunities for innovative projects, broad networking and technical support; students are available for workplace learning and involvement in activities and we can continue our close relationship with the University and teaching and research staff; and the management and staff are open and very helpful.
