USC Students gain industry experience at IC
During the second semester of 2009, two USC Bachelor of Business (Financial Planning) students, Adam Kemp and Ashleigh Lang, have been completing their BUS331 Business Internship course with Natalie Martin, Financial Planner with Enact Wealth Solutions based at the Innovation Centre.The course requires a total of 96 hours in the workplace, in which Adam and Ashleigh have been helping to service ENACT clients and composing a review project.
Third year USC Bachelor of Business student, Rebecca Chikosi, has been engaged by the Innovation Centre to undertake market research and prepare a professional report to complete her internship.
This course, coordinated by Dr Gayle Mayes from the USC’s Faculty of Business, is heavily focused on work integrated learning and has allowed Adam, Ashleigh and Rebecca to acquire real world experience whilst building invaluable industry relationships.
Going from strength to strength, Innovation Centre based Online Marketing Collective (OMC) have also looked to the University's diverse pool of talent.
OMC have employed USC first year Software Engineering student, Tom Allen, and third year Computer Based Arts and Design student, Nick Galvin to help service their growing client base with local and national clients in retail, hospitality and banking sectors.
