A visit to the University of the Sunshine Coast’s new Engineering and Science Training Facility, has forged another valuable connection between solar and energy management company Auzion and the University.

Auzion CEO, Mark Leckenby along with Innovation Centre CEO, Colin Graham were invited by Dr Peter Killen, Senior Lecturer Physics, Dr Denis Podger, Manager Technical Services and Dr Aaron Wiegand, Lecturer Math Modeling to tour the facility to get a first-hand look at its practical research and training capabilities.

Mr Leckenby said the visit builds on a valuable working partnership with the University and opens the door for future research and development opportunities at the new facility.

“The team at the Engineering facility gave us great insights into the innovative work they are doing, I was even given the chance to try out their Hovercraft” Mr Leckenby said.

As a result of the visit the Engineering team will perform stress testing on Auzion’s latest product innovation, the AuziRack - a solar panel roof mounting system.

“Auzion will install its first stand alone system including solar panels and batteries for USC golf buggies” Mr Leckenby said.

Mr Leckenby said the company will also provide a wind turbine for use on top of the facility’s water tower.
