Schoolzine revolutionises communication for Defence Force families

20-Dec-2011
Sharing, viewing, interacting and enjoying your children’s education is now readily available for parents around the world, working for the Australian Defence Force.

Schoolzine, a Queensland company based at the Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast, that specialises in e-newsletters and computer based interactivity has enabled families to connect with their children’s school and their education via the internet. Through the child’s high school or primary school online newsletter, parents and family members working in places such as Afghanistan, can see, hear and be involved in their children’s school activities.

The Principal of Mitchelton State Primary School, Roger Sheehan on the North side of Brisbane, Qld said “We have a lot of children who attend Mitchelton State Primary, whose parents, work for the Australian Defence Force. Schoolzine has allowed these parents working overseas to be involved in their children’s school life. I have had fathers, who are soldiers, crying while thanking me for allowing them to watch their child’s Easter school concert via Schoolzine’s interactive e-newsletters. That is a feeling that you cannot put a price on.”

Schoolzine is more than a newsletter service, they provide to schools a range of communication tools that connect communities. These tools include SMS text messaging, E-news flashes, online forms, database management, reports, online calendars, event bookings and yearbooks.

Mr Sheehan continued “Schoolzine values education and they value the importance parent interaction has on their children’s education, I have implemented Schoolzine e-newsletters and their online tools into three schools that I have been the principal for, I will use them again and again! Schoolzine has revolutionised the way schools communicate with parents. I would go as far as to say Schoolzine is the Facebook of school newsletters”
