11-Aug-2011Local business leaders and members of state and local government gathered for the awards evening held at the Noosa Food & Wine festival as part of Westpac’s wider National Business Month.
Westpac’s Regional Small Business Awards showcased leading Sunshine Coast small businesses, recognising their achievements in the categories of customer service, community involvement and employment.
Traffika CEO, Matt Forman said they were honoured to win an award that celebrates small businesses as a vital contributor to the local economy.
“It came as a great surprise and is testament to the hard work and passion of the team here at Traffika” Matt said.
Innovation Centre CEO Colin Graham said Traffika was a well-deserved winner and an excellent example of a successful technology business in the region’s growing Digital sector.
“Over the last two years at the Innovation Centre, Traffika has grown to now employ 15 people locally with the potential to create over 100 new jobs for the region in the next 3 years” Colin said.
“Supporting the growth of businesses such as Traffika on the Sunshine Coast is key to diversifying the local economy and creating sustainable jobs in new industries” Colin said.
The Innovation Centre provides an ideal base for technology businesses with access to a business grade information and technology system and the ability to tap into the University’s ICT student and graduate talent.
“The linkages the Innovation Centre provides to the University of the Sunshine Coast assists us in accessing and developing key talent that is essential to our company’s growth” Matt said.
“Without a doubt, the Innovation Centre is the most important economic development asset for the Sunshine Coast region, both in terms of economic diversification and local jobs creation” Matt said.
