USC PR students visit Innovation Centre

01-Dec-2011 The Innovation Centre Boardroom turned into a classroom last week, with 33 Public Relations Campaign Planning students visiting the centre for an excursion and insight into the marketing and public relations of a real business. 

 

The class, led by PR lecturer and tutor, Amber James, has now visited the centre for 3 years running, with both students and staff enjoying the opportunity to combine learning in a business environment. 

“It is great for the students to be able to visit the centre,” Innovation Centre Marketing Coordinator, Hayley Passmore, said.

“Not only do the students get to visit a professional office right on their doorstep, but it was a really good opportunity for us to meet with some of the bright young minds at the University.” 

The students, in the session led by Hayley along with Recruitment & Talent Manager Chloe Ryan, learnt about the Innovation Centre’s mission, and the strategies and tactics implemented for promotion. 

It was then up to them to become the “innovative” PR Professionals in which they had to tackle an activity and then present it to the class.
