Auzion commenced operations at the Innovation Centre in July 2008 with the idea of starting a business in sustainable technologies including solar power and energy management.
...the business has grown from strength to strentgh to now a total of around 50 staff.
The IC has been an ideal location to start the business, as it gave a solid platform on which to build trust and respect in the community.
As an Electrical Engineer, I've relied on the strengths of the Innovation Centre staff to help achieve the revenues we now see today. In the first year of operation the business had about 10 staff and turned $1.7M in revenues. The second year of operation achieved five time those revenues and now in the third year forecast of about $20M.
In summary I could not have chosen a better place to start our business and strongly endorse the IC as a hub to build future growth and create jobs on the Sunshine Coast.
Mark Leckenby, CEO, Auzion
"I am confident the facilities, environment, networks and support provided by the Innovation Centre has a positive impact on the success of tenant firms and the growth of knowledge and technology-based industries in our region. I regret that I did not make the move to the Innovation Centre earlier!...the Innovation Centre is a great place to work and I find it very motivating to work amongst a group of likeminded, motivated and entrepreneurial peers.
"Michael Stevens, Managing Director, Aquiba
"As a business owner based out of the Innovation Centre for over two years I can confidently say that without the help of the centre's team and support it is likely that 'Food Matters' would not be the international success that it has become. The Centre has offered our business some increadible support and resources including:
- Tapping into University talent
- Mentoring meetings with the entrepreneur-in-residence
- Industry networking events and functions helping us connect with like minded businesses
- High-speed internet, reliable security, 24 hour access and a central reception to help handle mail and general correspondence when we are on the road
Our time at the centre continues to be an enjoyable, fun and exciting business adventure thanks to all the wonderful people that make up the centre's staff and companies.
"James Colquhoun, Director, Food Matters
"As a base of operations, the Sunshine Coast ticks all the boxes for innovative technology companies. The emergence of modern, new technology precincts combined with a healthy and vibrant lifestyle, attracts passionate, visionary companies.I think the Innovation Centre fills a vital role for the continued growth of the Sunshine Coast as a high-tech and clean-tech business region. And EVA Robotics is proud to associate ourselves with the centre and all it's wonderfull staff.

"Australia’s no worries answer to Silicon Valley "CNBC Business, July 2010
"Since joining the Innovation Centre two years ago we have benefited greatly by participating in the "business incubation" program managed by your organisation. Our idea for developing a software as a service solution for managing quality management systems would not have taken root if it was not for the patient and knowledgable mentoring of the Centre staff.
This is a great regional resource for developing new knowledge-based industries.
Ian Clark Senior Consultant, Quality Systems Network
"Since moving to the Innovation Centre in September 2010 Massey Online Management (MOM) has gone from strength to strength. With the assistance of the Business Development Manager, we now have a clear business plan and goals and much improved direction and understanding of the actions required for the business to grow and prosper.
In the six months of support from the Innovation Centre, the MOM client base has increased by 133%.
An additional benefit that was not anticipated has been the opportunity to network and share knowledge with technology based at the Innovation Centre and the University community.
The leap from home based business to the Business Incubator at the Innovation Centre was made with trepidation but has already proven to be the best business decision I have made from Massey Online Management to date.
"Kath Massey, Director, Massey Online Management
"Without a doubt, the Innovation Centre is the most important economic development asset for the Sunshine Coast region, both in terms of economic diversification and local jobs creation.Without your support our business would not have achieved the success it has so quickly.
The linkages the Innovation Centre provides to USC assists us in accessing and developing key talent that is essential for our company's growth.
With such a heavy reliance on 'traditional' industry, the Sunshine Coast needs the Innovation Centre to help knowledge based business develop and prosper and diversify the economic base.
Matt Forman, Founder & Managing Director, Traffika
"We have enjoyed and received benefit through attending a number of Innovation Centre events such as Enterprise Tuesday. These events are a great way to meet other business people, to share ideas and connect with the broader local business community.i3000 has participated in a number of sessions with staff and students from the University's Faculty of Business. These sessions have allowed us to add some value to the University and to identify future mutually beneficial opportunities.
