The University of the Sunshine Coast is one of the fastest growing universities in Australia.  Established in 1996 on a green-field site, the University now has over 5,000 students and is on track to reach 15,000 by 2021.

In 2002, the University established the Innovation Centre as a subsidiary company to pursue the goal of building a strong base of knowledge based businesses on the Sunshine Coast.

The University is developing a strong focus on entrepreneurship and offers an Entrepreneurship Minor as part of the curriculum and has established an alliance with the University of Cambridge to deliver the Enterprisers program in Australia.
